My Holy Grail Hair Product

A few months back, I took the plunge and cut most of my hair off. I used to have long, waist length hair and it took some major courage to book into the hairdressers and watch them cut it all off. The thing was though, my hair wasn't healthy. It didn't look good. It didn't even really look like real hair. I was so blinded by the fear of cutting my hair short that I didn't notice how bad the condition of my hair really was.

Now when I say I cut most of my hair off I am being dramatic - I had it cut to just above my shoulder.

It may seem silly, but lots of you will understand that this really was a big jump for me, and did take some getting used to. Having said that, my hair was so super healthy after the chop and really did look so much better. I now realise how much of a difference having healthy hair really makes. Not only does it look much better, it's so much easier to manage.

Now - getting on to the good stuff.
My hairdresser recommended I try the super popular Kérastase Ciment Thermique, which is described as a reconstructing milk for brittle, damaged hair. This leave in treatment is heat activated using a hair dryer, straighteners, curling tongs or any other hot styling tool.

I apply a little blob of this onto the palm of my hand and work it through wet hair after every shower. Not only does it work as a heat protectant but it also works as a leave in treatment to strengthen the hair. The treatment is reactivated each time heat is used on the hair, so there's much less product build up happening day after day.

Five months later and I've only just ran out of my first tube of this miraculous stuff. My hair is looking better than ever, with minimal damage or split ends. While its a little on the pricey side, I'll most definitely be repurchasing as I really do believe it makes a difference!

Oh, and did I mention this stuff smells like heaven?

(Pictured above is my newly repurchased Ciment Thermique. When I first received this in the post I thought they had sent me the wrong product but after careful examination I have decided it is the same product only in different packaging. Am I right?)

  1. Great post! I have quite long hair and it is beginning to look a bit dry at the ends so I have been looking for a good product to use :)

  2. Well done on being brave enough to cut your hair short when it needed it! I love short(er) hair, and find it hard to see when girls with super long hair don't even use conditioner!

    1. I know, after having such long and damaged hair for so long, healthy hair looks so attractive and really appeals to me now! So worth going for the chop 🙊
